Thanksgiving means…

Thanksgiving means family gathered around a huge turkey. Too much food and fond family stories. It also means tension and stress and eating creative concoctions filled with left over turkey for at least four or five days.

With those things aside, because we all have certain things to be thankful for, I want to bring up one important person in your life that needs to be thanked, but rarely is. The farmer.

This week is traditionally one of my favorites, not because of the turkey, but because it is National Farm-City Week. I came across the following video and thought it was an apt thing to share. Farmers provide the fuel we need to live our lives, no, not ethanol…food. One farmer feeds 155 people, but how many of the 155 actually think about the one?

I’m off from work this week and am busy writing so you can be sure to get a post or two this week including a recipe.
