Here is the other piece to the meal I was telling Kate about. The two dishes together make for a comfort food bonanza.
Mac ‘n Cheese
1 lb. elbow macaroni cooked per box instructions
1 lb. sharp cheddar cheese, sliced
salt and pepper to taste
2 T. butter cut into small cubes
1 can evaporated milk
Preheat oven to 375. In a 9 x 13 pan spread one layer of the macaroni. Place slices of the cheddar cheese on top of the macaroni so that it covers the layer. Drop some of the butter cubes over the layer. Repeat until all the macaroni is gone. Be sure to top the layers with a layer of sliced cheese. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour can of evaporated milk over the entire thing. Cover with foil. Bake for 30 – 40 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
