Yesterday as I drove to work, I looked up and around and saw the most amazing sight. It was like a winter wonderland. Snow clung to branches and wires and rooftops in a way that all too rarely and beautifully happens. I thought back to last year when we had a rather severe ice storm. The day after everything was covered in a layer of ice and when the sun shone through it, well it was breathtaking.
Yesterday morning I was marveling at our pretty snow-kingdom. Yesterday afternoon I was sick of the third straight day of heavy, wet snow showers that are more on than off. It was then that I realized something…pretty winter wonderlands are great if you are at home with a cozy cup of cocoa, a blanket and no place to go, but not so much if you have to be out and about.
